Queer Artist & Natural Dyer

Peyton Follis is an Artist based in the Kansas City area. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute where he received his Bachelor's of Fine Art. Peyton works with a range of materials from weaving to rug making, and ceramics to woodworking. His work explores sexuality of the gay man and focuses on the long history of liberation. 

Needle Punch Rugs

Rug are essential to every home. They provide comfort, visual appeal, and absorb sound. The Needle Punch Rugs are handmade with images from a variety of queer films, The Idol, Drive, and Light from the Second Story Window. Abstract shapes and colors form new representation of history. 

Stencil Project

Ongoing project experimenting with stencil's and abstract designs for unknown patterns or compositions. 

Computed Tomography Quilt

A Computed Tomography Scans (CT scans) are common imagery tool used in medicine for diagnostics and in some cases a regular procedure. This work explores the images created with diagnostic images from an abdominal CT.
